Hey all, figured this would be the place to solicit players. (This is Brian, for those of you I've met at the monday D&D sessions) I'd like to put something together in the weekly or bi-weekly nature, depending on everyone's schedules. That would be sorted out later, of course.
I'm looking for four or five more players, ideally. One player has already signed on.
As for what I want to run, there are options. I'm most familiar with white wolf - I usually run a mix of the old and new systems. Old world, new rules. I find it works pretty well, but if people really want old / new, I could go either way.
Mortals with some sort of horror / sci-fi flavor? A little Lovcraftian mind-funk?
Werewolf? I know someone out there must love rolling about in entrails . . .
Mage? Make reality melt around you like so much room temperature Neapolitan ice cream?
I'm not big on vampire. Too much angst.
Or, there's a new one called Scion - I really like the looks of this one. You play the 'child' of some god. Pick your pantheon, pick your god, and go from there. It's pretty sweet-ass. Very much mythic.
Or, I could run D&D - 4th edition, or 3.5, depending on what people want. I started a 3.5 game in Halifax based around a team of spies and assassins – rouges, rangers, wizards, etc. Think mission impossible, With an Ebberon twist. It was a lot of fun the few times it ran. I’d love to do something like that here, if there are people interested in lots of lurking and back-stabbing.
In all cases, I prefer games with lots of character development, role-playing, intrigue, and some pc-on-pc conflict. I like to have players make characters whose back story is somehow tied into the overarching plot. I like dark secrets. In other words, this ain’t no dungeon crawl, baby. Not always gonna be combat every session.
Also, if people want world of darkness, we do it dark. My last game ended with the pc's accidentally bringing about the Armageddon. No black-and-white or good vs. evil. Figured I should mention that part, as it's caused some trouble with other players in the past.
From what I've seen at the monday night games, though, that shouldn't be a problem.
Anyhow, any interested parties should respond here. I'm just testing the waters for now. More details to follow.
