The type of game where each player has a character. While the original Talisman is a classic I think Runebound is the best in this genre. I haven't played Descent yet but heard that once you have the cool items you're pretty much done. Runebound has 4 levels of play from the easy quests for level 1 characters to game ending quests at level 4. Items cost gold so the good stuff requires lots of gold.
World of Warcraft the boardgame is well worth its weight in toonies. Play is simple once you've step thru a round of combat. The combat system uses d8s in a very unique way. Each character is limited to 7 dice of each color. Blue for range, red for melee and green for defense. So once a character maxes out on a color they need to focus on other stuff. Our games have taken quite a while but its definitely worth playing.

Betrayal at House on the Hill is still mine. The atmosphere is second to none.
Of the ones you've listed, though, I've only played Talisman... 20 years ago. LOL Maybe some evening at the store we could try one of them?
